It is recommended to clean up any spills immediately, before they have a chance to dry. Use a mild detergent or cleaning agent (non-bleach and non-abrasive) to clean your Glowstone surface. Although Glowstone surfaces resist staining from liquids such as wine, vinegar, tea, lemon juice, and soda, as well as from fruits and vegetables, it's best to wipe up food and liquid spills as soon as possible.
For dried spills, use a non-abrasive cleaning pad such as a white 3M Scotch-Brite (or similar). Always use cutting boards and trivets when preparing food. While Glowstone surfaces are heat and scratch resistant, they are not heat- or scratch-proof. Avoid chopping or slicing food directly on the surface. To preserve the beauty of your Glowstone countertops, never place hot skillets or roasting pans directly on them—use trivets or heat-resistant pads instead.

Casual exposure to alkaline solutions won't damage Glowstone surfaces. However, highly alkaline (high pH) cleaners—such as oven cleaners and concentrated bleach—are not recommended for use on Glowstone surfaces.
If grease from cooking is a concern, use a basic degreasing product to help loosen and remove it from the surface. Always follow the manufacturer's instructions for use.
Keep permanent markers and inks away from your surfaces. If they come into contact with the surface, clean it as outlined in the Routine Care section above. If the stain persists, moisten a cloth with Cif (or a comparable product) and gently rub it into the stain. Use warm water to remove any cleaner residue.
To maintain the beauty and durability of your Glowstone surface, avoid exposing it to harsh chemicals and solvents such as paint removers, furniture strippers, nail polish remover, bleach, bluing agents, and oil-based cleaners. Refrain from applying excessive force or pressure with heavy or sharp objects, as this can cause chipping. While Glowstone is scratch-resistant, we recommend using a chopping board to protect the surface from knives and other sharp tools—helping preserve its elegant appearance for years to come.
